Montjuic Exploration

This past weekend we split up into groups in order to explore two parks across town for an assignment. My group explored Montjuic, the mountainous park bracketing the southwestern edge of the city, located directly on the water. The national palace (with the big fountain) is located on one side of mountain, and the Olympic stadium and other park elements are up near the top. At the very top is an old fortified castle that has incredible views of the city and ocean. Here are some pictures:

Also in the park is Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona Pavilion. It is amazing in its simplicity, both spatially and materially. Well worth the 2,30 entry fee:
